Eastern coast – that covers municipalities of Bar and Ulcinj.

Ulcinj is one of the oldest towns along the Adriatic coast, and had experienced a turbulent history under many rules. It has also been known as a pirate outpost, and  in stories of piracy are part of this town’s vibe. Ulcinj also boasts the longest sandy beach  in the Adriatic – a 12km long sandy beach, as well as a Bojana river delta isle called Ada. The region around Ulcinj is very fertile and it is a perfect spot for growing all kinds of vegetables, citrus fruits as well as olives.

Bar is an old, medieval town. Although on the coast, it was not so much oriented towards the fisheries and other maritime activities, but has been known as the city of olives. The old town is surrounded by olive groves where centuries old olive trees can be found. The oldest tree dates from than 2000 years ago. The habit of growing olives and making oil is still a part of the local people’s way of life.
