Popular game fish, rainbow trout are omnivorous and eat a wide variety of both baits and lures. Although easier to catch then many other trout, they often jump when hooked and are a fun adversary on light tackle. Many of the Montenegrin mountain rivers and lakes where they are found are very scenic which adds to the fishing experience. The wild-caught rainbows taste delicious.

Nestled within the pristine nature next to the mountain Bjelasica (http://www.skijanje.rs/ski-centri/crna-gora/bjelasica-kolasin/), in the municipalities of Bijelo Polje (http://www.bijelopolje.co.me/), Bar (http://bar.me/) and Andrijevica (http://opstinaandrijevica.me/), there are several fish ponds that are also putting Montenegro on the map for freshwater fish production. The crystal clear waters that flow into the ponds, and the commitment of the owners to quality production, is giving rise to some of the best trout in the Balkans.
