The town of Bar has been founded as the town of olives. Even today it has centuries old olive groves and local population that cultivates olives and makes olive oil. This festival celebrates olives and olive oil products of this region.
The festival consists of a fair with more than 100 stalls where visitors can try and purchase local products of olives – olive oil, marinated olives, artefacts made form olive trees, as well as those from other agricultural products such are citrus fruits, grapes etc. Apart from that there is a rich music programe with songs and dances, displays of local folk costumes and traditional crafts as well as various workshops and lectures related to olives.
