Part of the southern coast of Skadar Lake, around the village of Ostros, is famous for large chestnut forest with more than 10000 of those impressive trees. Local population has been tending the forest, and used its nuts in local cuisine. Kostanijada is a festival that celebrates this tree, so its program revolves around making and tasting of local delicacies made from chestnuts. Apart from the stalls offering chestnut products, there are music performances and displays of local arts and crafts like folk costumes, embroidery and weaving and such.
